It's always great to come home to a barbeque after a long dragging week of work. Barbeque enthusiasts spend a good amount of time in getting the right BBQ smoker as they see this activity as a breather. The men value weekend barbeques with friends as much as the ladies value their monthly or even weekly r&r's. Rival makes a smaller crock pot but I like cooking extra to allow for leftovers the following day. I especially love the crock pot on hot days because I don't have to stand over a stove to make a nice meal. At night, I just throw in the ingredients of the dish, then select "low" to cook. In the morning, the dish is prepared and I can then set it on "warm" to keep throughout the day, leave it on "low" to cook a little longer, or place it in the fridge and warm it back up later. But this doesn't mean you have to cut all connections between you and these delicious meat cuts and meat products. You are still required to eat some of these in order to complete your nutritional needs. You just have to minimize your intake of them, the general guideline in eating meat is. Your portion should not be bigger that the palm of your hand. Plan breakfast the night before. Even setting out the boxes of cereal and bowls can give you a few extra minutes in the morning. You can do so many things for breakfast if you take a minute the night before. You can cook oatmeal in the slow cooker (see Alton Brown's slow cooker pork ribs in slow cooker oatmeal recipe and make your own adaptations ) You can also make French toast the night before and pop it into the oven to bake while everyone wakes and dresses. One with the keys to this specific award winning juicy recipe is the marinating time. You must also use the leftover juices to pour over the ribs and then use as a dipping sauce. This recipe is truly a tasty and juicy one. If it is stormy weather outside try a boneless ribs recipe. Of course for this recipe you need to have boneless ribs, salt, brown sugar, paprika and your favorite Barbeque sauce. Country-style ribs: These are not actually ribs at all. Instead this cut of meat comes from the top part of the shoulder of a hog (referred to as the "butt"). A country-style rib is simply a slow cooker pork ribs butt that has been sliced across the bone into smaller sections. Ribs are actually pretty easy to cook with the right equipment. A good smoker with your favorite wood and following these directions can deliver consistent results. Among the barbecue community, there is a number formula for cooking 'fall off the bone pork spare ribs'. For baby backs, the number is 2-2-1 and for spares, 3-2-1. The first number represents the number of hours cooked straight on the rack of your smoker. The second number is the number of hours wrapped in foil and the last number is the number of hours without foil. So, for baby backs, two hours 'naked', then 2 hours in foil and 1 hour naked. This will result in great tender ribs. We all know that it's healthier to make bread from scratch rather than buying sliced bread at the store, but who has the time? You may think that it takes forever to knead bread dough and that you just don't have that kind of time. A stand mixer is wonderful for this and so much more. A stand mixer quickly kneads bread dough, allowing you to serve fresh bread whenever you'd like. You can also buy attachments that will allow you to make homemade pasta, sorbets, and even fresh ground meat.
