One of my family's favorite meals when the weather turns cooler is beef stew. There is something very comforting about this hearty dish. I've tried different ways of making it and my favorite way, by far, is the one I make in my slow cooker. For some reason, cooking the stew slowly this ways seems to always ensure that the beef is fall apart tender. I love the idea of putting it all in the slow cooker in the morning and letting it cook all day long. By the time dinner arrives, it is cooked to perfection and my house smells wonderful.
If you drink wine for its health benefits you should stick with red wines. Red wines are full of antioxidants and are believed to promote optimal heart health when you drink it in moderation, ideally one glass a day. Other wines may have the same benefit in varying degrees, but red wine is definitely the best choice. A suggestion for the leftovers is to add some of the shredded pork to your favorite Cheese Quesadillas recipe. It tastes great when served with a nice Tomato Basil Soup. Putting my personal feelings aside, Nalley Big Chunk No Beans crockpot chili was a pretty tasty chili, and I liked that I didn't have to worry about any gas afterward. It has a good chili flavor, but is not at all spicy hot. The ground beef is almost minced, the texture is very fine, and there are no chunks of ground beef in this chili. In most cases, you can just place raw food and liquid (water, wine, etc.) in the slow cooked chili. In a few cases, the liquid has to be pre-heated. When this is done, all you have to do is put on the lit, and either switch on the cooker, or pre-program it to start later. Cut your vegetables into small pieces. Unless you like your vegetables quite crispy, cut them into smaller pieces. Put potatoes carrots and other root vegetables on the bottom or against the sides of the pot This will ensure that they get maximum heat Again you can also saute onions before adding them if you slow cooker chili find you prefer this taste. When you have combined all of the ingredients and placed them in the cooker, you can set the temperature to high and then cook the entire contents for about 8 hours. The reason cooking this chili is so convenient is because if you have to work or leave the house for an extended period of time, you don't have to worry about whether or not the meal is going to cook properly. The slow cooking process allows you to cook the chili over the 8 hours without having to watch it. If you need your stew to thicken you may use a few of the all reason flour and place three tbsp inside a chili con carne in a can. Add a cup of drinking water and stir to sort a paste. Pour this paste into the gradual cooker.
